The fatherhood Program began in 1998 as an extension of the Families First Program at Madonna Place. Services provided at the time were case management and group work. In 2000, the Department of Social Services asked our agency to be part of their pilot program and become a certified Fatherhood site. Today we remain a certified Fatherhood site and draw funding from several community and state agencies and foundations.
Purpose:
The purpose of the program is to increase positive involvement and interaction between fathers and their children. We work with fathers in a strengths-based way to help them increase their abilities as parents, and to meet their parental responsibilities of providing social, emotional, medical, educational, and finical assistance to their children.
